Hello:
I am in the market for a new computer. The last computer that I bought is very old and running on Windows 98. I have kept it so long because it has run flawlessly and due to a restricted budget. On my old computer I have several photos (approx 1 Gig) that I will need to transfer to the new computer. I have a 125mb Flash Drive that works with my current computer as well as those with USB 2.0. I know that it probably isn't the most efficient way, and that it will be somewhat time consuming, however can I transfer the photos from the old computer to the new one using my 128mb USB Flash Drive? I know that this will take approximately 10 transfers, but I am planning on saving this for a rainy day. Thanks for any input!

Look for a USB to USB connector. Their like 14 buck. A lot faster way to transfer files.

Ok - thanks! Would this work despite the fact that the older computer was USB 1.1 and the newer one 2.0. How do I actually make the transfer - is there software that I have to load onto one or both of the machines in order to make this work. And finally, would it be at all possible to do it the way that I mentioned in my first post?

It will be slower considering that it is USB 1.1 just find one that is backwards compatible. Don't think there is any software.i think you just cut and paste it in the My computer. And yes you would be able to use your flash drive but it is definitely a rain day project.
