Please help, problem with monitor

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum and I am seeking some help

I have a Compaq Presario C700 laptop,
and recently I have had some trouble with the monitor,

The colors on the monitor are all distorted, for instance there are green and pink circles everywhere,
when i hold the monitor down or when i tilt it in a certain way they go away, but eventually they come back later

Now I'm not sure why this happened, I have a feeling my little cousin dropped the laptop, but I am not sure,
I heard that it may be a loose ribbon cable
Is there any possible alternative?

Does anyone know where the ribbon cable actually is in the C700 so I can replace it

I will try to post some pictures of my actual laptop, but for now, here is someone else pictures, and I appear to be having the same exact problem,

(these are not my pictures, just some pictures I found while trying to google the problem, but my monitor is doing the same thing with the colours)


As I said, only when I tilt the monitor back and forth does it go away (only for a while)
or when I firmly hold the monitor down with my hands or push down on it

Well you are lucky to get an answer in a short period of time.

Go to this link as it will have a manual for your laptop so you can pull it apart and check your ribbon connections to the screen.

Be warned be careful and read your instructions carefully as laptops are very fragile equipment.
