please help with my ext hard drive

Hello,

I have a toshiba 400gb ext hard drive and i have forgotten the password and that means i can't use the drive. i have tried to reset the password but with no joy. Is there any way around this. If anybody has any idea's please let me know. Shall i take it to a computer shop to recover the date?

Yes, Recover the date (aka Data - typo's) would be your costly method or alternatively you could stow it away until you can think of the password - just out of interest what password software does it use?
