Here is a link to the laptop http://m.futureshop.ca/defaultpage....?sku=10257006&tab=Tab_FeatureSpecs&lang=en-CA

And here is my question. So I want this for gaming will it do the trick I know it's not awesome for gaming but will it be able to run games like arma 2 and mine craft, battlefield3 and so on. I went to future shop and they said they have computers worse then this and they can run games like skyrim on ultra settings. So can anyone tell me if this laptop will be decent for gaming with no leg and a good frame rate. It has a GeForce graphics card and descent specs from what I see.

Id say yes, it would play pretty much what you wanted it too. Although what ive always said that most laptops can do gaming like this but due to its compacted nature temps are always an issue. Especially on gaming. My sold lenovo z580 played minecraft perfectly on 200fps aswell as skyrim etc and it was a dual i5 @2.5ghz with gt 630m 1gb. It was a well built with plenty of air inlets but as soon as i played games the fan speed just shot up and it was like a mini hairdryer and my cpu temps went up to around 80 degrees celsius. Due to the style of laptop heatsinks temps always let them down. And as you may or may not know especially when cpus, gpus get hot hot they start acting up and things can get a bit choppy at times.

The temps were really one of the main deciders on why i built a gaming desktop. Aswell a
s being to choose what i wanted and upgrade anything i wanted.

Like i did you may decide a few months after getting the laptop you want more from it, but theres nothing you can do about but to buy a new laptop or desktop.

Id say build a desktop, unless your really set on a laptop. They are easy to build not to mention you can pick and choose what you want. Also... You would be able to get much better specs for the price too £1100 here were talking i7 4770k, h100i water cooler, decent mobo, gtx 770/780 graphics, good case, 16gb RAM, decent kboard/mouse, Hard drive/SSD... For same price too...Way way way better than what that laptop offers.

Everyone on here will help you if you do decide to build one, plus im pretty sure someone will even give you a parts list on what ever price range you have. Theres plenty of guides all around to help you.

A desktop will give you the best gaming experience out of the two.
