Please help with Trojan Horse

Someone please help me get rid of this Trojan Horse virus/malware. I'm not all that computer literate, but I follow directions well.

My computer has been running slow, and lately I've been getting a pop up from my AVG (free version) saying I'm infected with some Trojan Horse - and naming a file called "c:\ProgramFiles\Shared\lib.dll", as well as some other files. As requested by the site administrator, I ran Malwarebytes and deleted several files - but then I had the same Trojan pop up message only a few minutes later. I then ran the HijackThis scan. If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

• Download this file here :

• Then double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
• When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Then click on fix checked at the bottom.

The next thing you need to do is create an uninstall list using hijackthis. Open hijackthis, click on open misc tools section, click on open uninstall manager, click save, save the file and copy and paste it back here.

Also uninstall anything that you don't use anymore.

After performing these uninstalls please post a fresh hijackthis log.

As far as the system just shutting down, its possible that its overheating. Have you opened the case and cleaned out all the dust in the fans especially the cpu heatsink/fan?

Please go back into add/remove programs and uninstall this entry.

Maybe I'm not doing something right. When I deleted the programs, I did it through HijackThis "Add/Remove Program Manager" and all 4 of the programs you mentioned were deleted from the HijackThis list. However, when I click on "My Computer" and then "Add or Remove Programs" only 2 of the 4 programs have been deleted. Both "Ask Toolbar" and "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5" are still there. Interestingly, when I click on all the programs in that list I have the option of clicking on a Change and/or Remove button - except in the case of the 2 programs I just mentioned. When I click on those 2 programs I only see the file size and that they are "Rarely" used - but no Change/Remove buttons. Should I be doing something different? Thanks.

Ok, as far as the java software goes, download this program and run it,


Please download JavaRA to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder

• Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
• Accept any prompts.
• Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
• Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

As far as the ask software goes.

Try downloading and using revouninstaller.

You could also try using revo for the java software as well.

Here is the HijackThis log. Assuming everything is good now, is there anything I need to do to keep this from happening again? As I mentioned earlier, I have the AVG free edition.
