I am trying to upload from a DVD-R that I recorded from the TV to make a file so I can send it to someone. Is this possible?? Cause it isn't happening for me.

Depends on what format the DVD was burned as it will most likely only work in your DVD burner only.
When recording from TV and you want to burn the DVD to be viewed by other DVD players and PC's I think you have to change a setting in the options menu.
Read your DVD manual.
 
Thanks...I think that is what happened. Wish I had known that before cause I don't think I will be able to record it again. At least i learned something. ;-)
 
If you have any type of capture card on your computer you could hook up the output of your DVD to computer and record from the DVD when played.
