i recently had a virus which i deleted using avg.since this my computer will not allow me to log on to the internet i keep getting an error message reading WININET.dll was not found.could anyone help me to reinstall WININET.dll on my computer.many thanks.GAZZA
 
could anyone tell me how to reinstall WININET.dll on my computer.windows xp pro.as i deleted it while deleting a virus.many thanks gazza
 
Please do not post your problem in more than one section of the forum! I have posted your fix for you in the security section!
 
i carnt actually get online to download this file, i am on libary computer at moment is there a program that i can type into my computer
 
I don't think the WININET.dll file is the entire problem. Youll need to post a Hjt log so we can see what's behind it all. :)

It could be a big part of it though, this is what that file is for!
wininet.dll is a module that contains Internet-related functions used by Windows applications!

What Byteman means is there is an infection which infects wininet.dll, that's why he wants to see a HJT log.
