M I got my laptop about 1 year ago, it is an inspiron 510m running XP with SP2. For as long as i can remember whenever i tried to access my hotmail account through MSN Messenger (as far as i can tell - i'm no far from an expert) the hard drive sounds as if it stops then restarts again. It made a sound like datdat daa datdat daa for about 30 secs then opened my emails. During this time i couldnt do anything else on the computer but it never bothered me because that was the only effect. About 1 month ago this started happening more frequently so now it happens when i turn my computer on, when i log in, when i sign in to msn, when i access favourites in explorer, when i click on my computer and then most of the subfolders. I can also no longer access my documents at all. When i click on the desktop icon, the quicklaunch or through my computer, nothing at all happens. I dont think they have been ereased because i saw them come up in the AVG scan. To date, the AVG scan is the only one that has worked fully. All other scans stop halfway through while the cycle i described at the start (the harddrive) repeats over and over. I get no error messages at all. I tried to do the scans described in the sticky but as mentioned i couldnt complete any of them so apologies if theres any really obvious crap on this log. Could it possibly be a physical problem (with the hard drive) rather than a software one? Please help any qay you can, i really need my documents back. O yeah, i can access the internet perfectly, no problems. Thanks in expectancy. Also apologies for the essay but i haven't a scooby doo what is relevant and what isnt.
