Please Help! Can't install IE6

I have been trying to install IE 6, which I need for the verizon DSL I just ordered. I ran setup and everything proceeds pretty well until a message pops up that says "unable to install the following components". The list includes pretty much everything, including the IE6 web browser. I'm hoping someone can give me some direction. Thanks........Chris

Where did you get the IE6 from the internet or did it come with your computer/ Verizon DSL.

If it came with your computer/Verizon DSl the try downloading it
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.mspx

If you download it. Try downloading it again.

If you can get post you computers spec that would also be helpful.
