Please I Need Help...

I need an Expert....

A few days ago I visited the closest computer shop cause my system is old and i wanted to renew it.The truth is that I am a 3d hunter,not really need of 64bit or 3.6ghz to play games.The reason for oppening this thread is that i have a question.
My system is:

Motherboard: D845WN Intel Corporation (Old,with Sdram Support)
Procc.:1,7Ghz Intel Pentium 4
Ram Memory: Sdram 128Mb (really bad i know)
Graphics Card: ATi Radeon 9200se 128 mb

As I said i'm a 3d hunter.
My question is: If i put +512mb of ram memory (i found dont worry) and Nvidia 6600gt ( my mb supports Agp 2/4x Could this be a problem?)
and after theese i will do a good tune up at my computer after formating.



My motherboard's agp 2.0 4x (transfer rate) will downgrade the performance of 6600gt video card??
As a result i will have :
1,7 Ghz proccessor
Nvidia 6600gt 128mb Graphics card
and 640Mb/Pc133 Sdram

Is this good???
I wanna play doom3 without loosing 1 frame
is this possible??

Kiker.....this question requires a multi-pronged answer. When pushing a computer to its limits with games such as Doom 3 or Far Cry, it becomes a balancing act. What i mean is this, you may have a Radeon x800 Platinum Edition video card but you will still get a slower negative experience when playing demanding games. To specifically answer your questions, if you were to put an nVidia 6600 gt into that system, you will still have a slow framerate and choppy experience. This would be for a couple of reasons: outdated, slow, and insufficient amount of RAM....slow AGP bus speed....and slow CPU speed. Any and all of those mentioned will cause a bottleneck in your system. To better suit your needs, you should consider a new motherboard and some new RAM. Hope this helps.

well im assuming you play hunting games? i dont know what else you would mean by that, but in case you havent noticed, even the hunting games are getting more and more visually intense...i also think your best bet would be to get a motherboard that supports your existing CPU, then get yourself some DDR RAM, which is getting downright cheap...and if your wanting a 6600GT you would definetlely want the AGP 8x that a new motherboard would provide, or better yet you could snag a new PCI Express mobo, but i also know that alot of the new Intel boards do not support the older Willamette core of your current CPU, but you may soon need a new video card thats for sure...if your springing for a new CPU as well, i have a motherboard that i could sell you, its this one right here http://ecsusa.com/products/865pe-a2.html but i know that it does not support the CPU you have now, but it can be made to with a flash, but it has to work to flash it, and i didnt have access to a CPU that would work in it at the time.

Well,check this out,I 'm gonna order A new MoBo,512Mb of ram and A new graphics card.CPU 1,7 Ghz Still remains,i m gonna renew it in a few months..

Looks good for now....in the future you may want to pick up another 512ram and a quicker cpu (as you stated). Also, you may want to go with name brand RAM such as corsair, crucial, or kingston. My experience with bargain RAM has been negative.

You might want to check with gigabyte to see if that board will support a williamette (provided you have a s478 not the s423 variant)

Well unless you insist on playing at max quality and high resolution than you'll be ok.
