please inform me

DDR2 is or has become the standard and the faster the better really, depends on what your computer can support and utilize.

Most desk tops started with SIMMS then plain SDRAM then DDR then DDR2, on a build it depends on the motherboard and CPU you pick!

You have to pick a board to know what speed ram it supports, like my board supports DDR2 400-533-677 and 800

so baiscally your telling me that they are all the same?? common i am wondering this so i can research boards and find out which one supports the max speed ram which you still havent helped me with...

You got it backward, you need to pick out your processor first, AM2 or Core 2, then pick a board. then pick a ram speed thats supported by the board, They make DDR2 from 400 to 1150

DDR2-800 = PC2-6400
DDR2-667 = PC2-5300
DDR2-553 = PC2-4200

That's roughly it.

If you are on a budget, DDR2-667 is great. However, if you have the extra, DDR2-800 is optimal if you are a serious overclocker.

i know that... but not just one mobo goes with 1 cpu. if i was picking out a mobo and i knew what the best type of ram was i could find the mobo that matches it... get what im saying??

You choose your CPU, then your motherboard falls into place. After that, your Ram comes naturally. The vast majority of Core 2 Duo compatible motherboards will have DDR2-800 compatibility as well.
