Whats up CF ladies and gentleman?! I was hoping to receive some input/suggestions on the computer I am planning on building in the next few weeks. The parts listed below is the new hardware I am considering on purchasing. I am going to use some of my current hardware (SB Audigy 2ZS, PSU, case, etc) in tandem. Please offer opinions or suggestions on the hardware whether good or bad. I intend on this being a sick computer and only want top quality junk in the trunk, if you know what im saying.

Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
eVGA 7800 GTX
2x 1GB OCZ Platinum PC3200 RAM
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice Core
2x 74GB WD Raptor 10,000 RPM in RAID 0

Thanks guys, I do appreciate it.

most definitly upgrade ur prossecor, everything else is really really good but ur processor is kinda slow for 2 gigs of ram and a 7800gtx, if i cant i guess it would be fine. but how much are u spending? if u can afford maybe a 3800 or an athlon 64 x2 processor would make it pretty kick ass

Thanks for replying!!

Well, the 3500 on newegg is running for about $219 as opposed to the 3800 running around $320. I am kinda of thinking that the 3500 will do just fine for now, but an upgrade in the future is imminent. As for your other question, this is costing me about $1000. In July I bought a 6800Ultra AGP and i am doing the "step up" program, so im getting that 7800GTX for $130 now.

do you mean that you already have a 6800ultra and you are upgrading to a 7800gtx? if so, i would say use the 6800 ultra and get a wicked nice processor.

Ya, do what Geoff said, cause a 6800 Ultra works excellent for games right now, and it will for a while. And "wicked" is strictly a New England thing if you thought that sounded weird when Geoff said it. :)

where you planning on selling the card? i would sell it and then use that money to help pay for your new computer.

Well, thats kind of what I am doing. I am trading up, through eVGA, to the 7800GTX. Since I paid $420.00 for the 6800Ultra, I send eVGA that card and pay them $130 and get a 7800 GTX.
