...about my computer that I've just built.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 90nm
eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI motherboard (was free!)
Centon 1 gig of DDR-400 PC-3200 RAM (never heard of company)
eVGA 256-P2-N528-AX Geforce 7800GTX :)
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 7200RPM 200GB IDE HDD
Samsung 16x DVD Burner
Ultra 600 Watt PSU
Zalman CNPS 7000-AiCu CPU Cooler
 
I'm going to be using it to game but not too much but the 7800gtx is just so I can have all the eye candy. I paid around $900.
 
"I" would't trust a brand I've never heard of before, but that's completely up to you.
 
Most likly a build. I going to have about the same thing only I dident get a free motherboard... Lucky

With everything im getting it costs around $983.23
 
yea, i'm planning to replace the RAM with 1gb of Corsair XMS or OCZ Performance 1gb. and yes, it was a build.
Any more suggestions?
 
I suppose you could sell the free mobo you got to a friend or on eBay for a "knocked down price" and get a DFI Lanparty SLi mobo if you want overclock.

EDIT: I also suggest that you get a SATA hard drive, just to keep it more future-proof.

Yeh, if i had a SATA mobo i would def go SATA, but i dont so im stuck with IDE, which is good i suppose but outdated a bit now.

And yes i also agree that newer/better RAM is in order as soon as you get the funds.
 
if you want to overclock, and you dont mind having only 1onboard gigabit port, get tha albatrion k8SLI board ( hmmm... must sound pretty much like a fanboy now ^^ )
but anyway, when OC's the Albatron is a big deal faster as the DFI ;)
and im very pleased with it.

and if you just want to have all the eye candy, you can go for a 6800GT ( or ULTRA ) instead of the 7800GTX. this would save you some monney. and it still runs everything just fine :)

EDIT: and you dont have to buy a new HD imediately. because the IDE one will work. however, you can upgrade later anytime :)

to liuliuboy: it was a deal with the EVGA 7800gtx at newegg. $139 discount so the mobo is free!
