PLEASE READ - concerning PayPal...

OK, I'm positive this is a fraud, and I just gave out my password -.-

Here's the deal, I got an email telling me my paypal account was outdated. The site was http://verify.account-paypal.com/.us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_login-run . I went there...it looked like paypal. I logged in, and then it asked me to enter some information. I figured OK, this is too much. So I decided to try and go to another page on paypal. Get this, it said I had to be logged in to access this page!!! Alright, something's up. So I go back to the link, and just entered some junk(user - skd pass - adsf) Guess what, I got the same screen asking for my creditcard info!!!

Needless to say, I quickly changed my password and went on and transfered my money out of that account. Of course it'll take a few days but maybe being in mid transfer will be safer. I know some people were complaining Paypal was draining their bank accounts, be sure it's actually paypal and not some fraud like this!

yup its fraud, you can login with anyname lpus password and it will say your logged in. That way it gets your password and username, then asks your creditcards for a bonus.

Yup...and guess who was dumb enough to give them a password -.- Oh well, I changed it very soon after and took my money out. I might not be using paypal that much anymore...

yeah, i used to get those kinds of emails alot when i ebayed alot. I would get them saying like "Your transaction of $402.50 to xxxxx has been completed, click here for details" or something like that, it was quite annoying, luckily I was able to pick up on it early enough.

A tell-tale sign that its a fraud one, on the page next to where it says secure login it has the little yellow padlock icon, now look at the bottom of the screen where that icon should be in the browser window. It isnt actually a verified secure site.

Outright Fake

Report this to paypal for sure. It's a well made spoof website. All the links except the form are linked elsewehere then the www.paypal.com webpage. As you mentioned, the form goes to: http://verify.account-paypal.com/.us/cgi-bin/verify.php.

TOTAL FAKE: Have a look at this : http://www.account-paypal.com/

And this WHOIS information :). Look at the owner of PAYPAL! ;) LOL..

LOL AND THIS : The adress of that the owner uses is a house of a value over 2 MILLION dollars. Check it out (the last house):

http://www.luxuryhomesintl.com/LuxuryHomes/Listings.html

Interestingly the salesperson of that house (of that company), has an asian name and the telephone numbers are from the same area. There is some connection between the owner of the DOMAIN and this salesperson (company). The e-mail is also from AOL.

I get those emails all the time but always delete them. If I need to login to paypal, for some supposed problem, I would open a new browser and type paypal.com and then login, if there was a problem, I would be sure to get some sort of message in the welcome screen or control panel. Also if you look at most of those scam emails, if you hover your mouse over the link which says paypal.com, in most cases they are redirecting to an ip address and not a domain.

i get those about 5 times a day, from ebay and paypal, the first time i got one i was filling it out, then when it asked for Social Security number, i finally realized it was fake. Usually when i get those i type in random things. I actually got one spoof email, and i typed in a random username and pass, and it said invalid, so it was trying to get you to put the real one in.

I have AOL ( about to change to comcast 4Mb/s) and this message poped up rite when i clicked the link -
