My sister said she is willing to sell it to me for $300. I need a laptop for university next year. Or would I be better spending $1000-$1200 for a new laptop as I had previously planned?

Please be aware however, that I already have a PC that I will use for my gaming etc. The laptop will just be for university purposes. I will be studying accounting (accounting software should be sweet on the laptop mentioned, right?)

Look, that would be alright, but i suggest you go and spend the $1000 to $1200 on a new one, and you can get windows vista and it will be a lot better than that.

I would do that.
