Plextor PX708A RW DVD Problem

I recently purchased a Plextor PX-708A RW DVD and have used it to copy DVD material. When I insert a regular data CD-R it will not copy to it from another CD-R...I keep getting "Insert a new Blank Disc?? It will read some but not all other CD-R Installation CD's?? I have been to the Plextor site and downloaded the latest and installed 'firmware.' Can anyone enlighten me on this subject. Never had a problem with other CD Burners in this manner.... tks in advance....FW

What software are you using? I had a similar trouble with Nero and my burner. In the dropdown box, I had to choose either F:\ DVD or F:\ CD-R\W; it would not automatically detect the blank disc unless I used the correct option on the dropdown box.

Sounds like you need to change the reading drive to the other drive (and have a blank disk in the Plexy)

I am using Roxio 7.... My Plextor is E: Drive...... Toshiba... F: Drive..
I open Roxio and go to copy disc....Toshiba reads disc.... there is no other
option listed under the 'recorder cd.' It keeps stating "Contents - Please insert a blank disc." No matter how many different brands I have tried... none of the blank discs are read by the Plextor
 
Will the Plexy burn normally, that is just burning an image? Try ripping the CD to your harddisk and then buring the iso.
