i have this piece geforce for 4 mx 440...that i've had for about 3 years..and it has been working fine until about 3 days ago when i got this virus...so i fixed the virus and whe i would play my games i noticed that it would skip every couple seconds..same aplies when i watch moviesss.so i reformmated and reinstalled windows xp home updated to newest drivers and every thing and i still have the skipping...Does any have any idea that i could do to fix this annoying problem...
 
Honestly it may have nothing to do with the virus. Something just may be old and shoddy. I agree, clean out the inside of the case. Make sure you have the latest drivers (that includes sound). Try opening your case and blowing a fan directly inside, see if the problem persists.
 
You downloaded the newest drivers from nvidias website? Or are you talking about the windows drivers for it that it provides in the Windows Update?
 
i downloaded drives from nvidia website....Here is the wierd part it stoped when i updated and restarted but yesterday it came back again...and i cleaned every thing off
