PLZ refer me to a PS that will run 8800GTS

I am having so much trouble trying to find a power supply that will run a
8800GTS effectively. GRRRR, this is ridiculous, 26A required and I cannot find one on Newegg. I don't know, therefore I cannot Newegg. Ha

THANKS FOR REFERRALS

Best Power Supply???

Give Opinion On What Power Supply you think is best. Must be over 450w, and feel free to give links or refferals.

what are the other components of the computer? do you need power for future upgrades? because right now we can suggest anything between 450-1100+.

It's For My Next Build

Hook me up with a refferal, THANKS

Im using it right now to power my 8800GTS and its doing just great, ive heard of people using it to power a GTX, but I dont think that it will run 2X GTS in SLI.

I have been running the GTS nonstop for over a month now off of that power supply with absolutely no problems, also I play fear, oblivion, and a few other games at max settings for hours at a time with no problems. I have heard of quite a few people running GTX's off of this power supply with no problems. I was told that it may have something to do with the 8800 using some power from the PCI-e slot (the main PS) and so it dosent require the full amperage from the thermaltake power supply. I do relise that SLI is out of the question.

The card can draw up to 75W from the PCIe interface. Those bay PSUs are designed to run 1 card while your main PSU runs the other.

Exactly. I've merged your two threads. While I feel that these bay PSUs have a place, particularly to complement an existing PSU when upgrading to SLI, in most cases I don't feel it's the best choice. The device costs $54, and by the time you add in the costs of a second, stable PSU for the rest of the hardware, it quickly becomes cheaper to purchase a single, larger PSU. Heck, you can get a PSU that will power an 8800GTS and the rest of your hardware for less than that anyway.

Oh, and I meant to say this earlier. The 26A recommended is the total output over all the +12V lines. Not the output on any single line. For example, the Enhance I recommended earlier has a total +12V@36A, the Corsair +12V@40A.

ya, for my system i picked up a 1.1 Kw psu, so that eventually i can run 2x 8800 gtx. 850 watt would probably be more than enough IF you aren't going to sli. the new 8800 line are power hogs.

Etasis 850 Watt Power supply - powerful, well made, and should be able to handle 2 cards sli. only con is the $225 plus price tag.
