I know that the frequencies are not the same but could i overclock the pny to equal the evga or lower the evga to pny??? or could i leave it alone and will it work? any help thanks.

Yeah it will work, My past experience with cards with different clocks, its always more stable if you put the slowest card in the top main slot.

Just download the newest evga precision, then you can set both cards to the same clockspeeds, and it allows you to change clocks on cards independently;)

What resolution do you play at?

What power supply do you have?

These too questions need to be asked before any sli config is considered - unless you want to burn money.

Also, 2 x 8800GT is a complete and utter waste of money in 90% of cases.

How much are you buying the GTS for? The 320/640 MB cards are pretty much obsolete, even the 8800GT outperforms them. Unless you're buying the second card cheap, I would consider getting a new card altogether.

Dont forget there is also a G92 8800gts which the 8800gt is a stripped down version of;)

Yeah, that's true. But he has the 640MB version. I've seen those things go on ebay for a lot of money, despite what they're really worth. I guess computer illiterate people find the 640MB bigger and thus better. With that money you could get a much better card.
