Pondering Switching to a Laptop

Hey guys. So, I thought about selling my desktop and my netbook and just getting a laptop. Right off the bat, what do you guys think?

I'm in college currently, so I usually travel a lot to my parents and trips to campus and such. And when I'm away from my desktop, my netbook just doesn't really cut it.

As for gaming, I don't play a lot of games. Recently I've been addicted to MLB 2K10, but I feel that will blow over sooner or later. If I do get a laptop, I would want it to handle at least some light gaming.

Mostly I would love to get rid of my desktop for two reasons: To free up room in my bedroom and to not have to lug my desktop with me when I move home for the summer and Christmas break.

I haven't made a decision yet and I don't even know if I'll go through with it. but just want to hear everyone's thoughts.

You will able to get a nice laptop able to handle light to medium gaming if you have the $$ to pay. A good laptop for school and gaming is the T500 Lenovo (Ibm). Switchable ATI and Intel graphics, high end I5 and I7 processors, Up to 8 GB RAM, and a nice battery life (3+ hours on the Intel "class duty" setting).

You will never be able to totally replace a desktop with a laptop, but you can come damn close. Just make sure that you keep them cool, and dry. Also watch your battery. If your going to be on plug power for a while, take the battery out and run solely off of plug power. It will extend the life of your battery, and save you $$ in the end.
Also, keep track of your serial number, just in case someone sees fit to "claim" it.

well if you really think that you do not need your computer.. might as well go with your plan.. I don't see anything wrong with it.. :)
