Poor processer quality on TOSHIBA SATELLITE C660D

It has a 256 MB graphics card... good enough... a 500 GB hard disk... i like.... 4 GB ram.... yes..... 1.6 GHZ processor... WHAT!? My Toshiba is lagging like hell on 3D games. Can anyone recommend a better processor management software or suggest a better processor?
 
Yeah most laptops ship with pretty low-clocked CPUs, it's pretty normal. It's pretty hard to upgrade the processor really and probably not worth the money or time doing because once you've upgraded the CPU the performance difference will likely be negligible to say the least. :/

I'd say your GPU is at fault here. Just because it has 256MB of V-RAM does not make it a strong card. For example, a 1GB GTX 560 will smash a 1GB GT 440 for example. It's about the GPU power itself, not the amount of RAM the GPU has.
 
But Minecraft and Rigs of rods both need 2GHz processers and they both lag like hell so i really need a new processer
 
How old is this laptop and exactly what processor do you currently have? Is it a single-core, is it a dual-core? A bit more information is needed.
 
You need a better laptop. You will not be able to be happy with your upgrade at all. Laptops are stuck with what they have for the most part minus hard drive and ram.
 
I just checked, it is 1.3 GHz :mad: AMD E-300 Dual-Core APU 1.3 GHz
I only had it for 6 months and we are short of money at the moment so no new pc

And my graphics is 5.2 in windows experience index
