Port problems

Hello!

I am having problems with my Internet - basically, I can browse, stream and download just fine all in the conventional way. But I can't connect to my web server's cPanel through my browser (it connects through port 2083[?]), I can't connect to my server with FTP and I can't get my email (from my server) through my mail client. I also can't use torrenting software.

This has started happening since moving house, but I haven't changed ISP and am using the same router as my old house. I've contacted my ISP and they have no idea what's happening. I've checked and rechecked my router's setting and there's no port blocking going on. I've used my computer's utilities to check the ports I'm using are open, and they are. I've also taken my laptop to other networks and can access cPanel, FTP and email on them, so the problem is not with my laptop or computer.

I'm out of ideas...can anybody help me here?

Hello,

I know an old post but next time go to
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

Type your server IP, if you don't know your server IP then

Run / cmd and use Ping

> ping website.com replace website.com with your own website ok.

Then type your ip and for your web services :

Ports
ftp - 21

Email Ports
pop3 - 110
imap - 143
smtp - 25
smtp - 587

Open is good ( service is working)
Closed is bad ( service is down or blocked)

May be your service for FTP or email is Down, contact your webhosting provider to restart the services.
