Portable HDD not working

My Portable HDD has stopped working. It seemed to happen after I moved it around quite a bit.

Tried to open it and it says not accessable corrupted or unreadable.

Tried CMD run and it says the drive or path is invalid.

Is it broke? If so, is it best to hammer it up before put in the bin?

Thanks

You really can't be moving drives around so much. Can the drive actually be taken out of the enclosure and hooked up to a pc? If so it may be salvageable.

A portable drive is meant to be moved around, that's why it's called a portable. However, you shouldn't move it while it's powered up.

Some externals are more durable then others. You still can't be moving externals around so much. I don't care what anybody says. They can only take so much shock before the heads get damaged.
