posix

linux isnt really an OS (well it is, but not in the sense you spoke of).... linux is a variation on a unix based core, or kernel, which then goes to make up an OS or distribution of linux.... so the question you asked doesn't really make sense....

the closest thing that i can through up would be that bash line interfaces use POSIX:1003.2 standard, if that helps, why do you need to know?

i jus saw it in a forum bout y linux is better than windows n it mentioned something bout posix standard and i was wonderin wat it was
