lol, as the ttitle says, i want 2 see if i can, if i can, i'll just buy more RAM, instead of another video card, or maybe both, anybody ever try this? or know if it's even possible?

I dont think you can do enough overclocking to change it from a "junk card" to a decent card. If you just wanna try it out and see how it goes then its not that big of a deal.

Just dont expect any real performance leaps.

ok, im glad you guys understad my questino, and didnt start cutting me up :) lol.

it's a ATI Rage 128 Pro 32MB.

i dont think the cards that old, this computer was manufatcered in 2002. ok, thanks guys, im gonna buy another video card anyway, i just wanted 2 see what i could do with this 1.

Even if you make the card 5 times faster you still have 32mb of ram, not enough to hold any textures, it has no shaders which is required by almost any game today, and most of it hardware is very outdated.

A graphics acelerator (Video Card) works by making many mathematical shorcuts to produce real-time render gameplay (shortcuts that would usually take the CPU much longer to calculate), with old cards they dont have the hardware to make the requiered mathematical shortcuts to render gameplay in todays games.

Even if you card is 5 times the speed, 0 multiplied by 5 is still 0

Whats is going to happen is a games is going to requiere DX9 you have a DX7 Card so the CPU has to process eveything that is missing in the card (which bogs down greatly), and in most cases it wont even work.

DX = Direct X, A program made to render the game, in this case DX adds a number to tell the generation, and in some cases a letter (DX9c) to tell a subgeneration (addition to that generation)
Render = When the computer calculates all the mathematical stuff to produce an image from data gather from said computer.

I hope this helps.

yes helps me greatly, thanks dude, like i said, i was just seeing if i could boost the performance, well my b-days in Sept., gonna ask 4 a new card :D.

Why do you bother to ask if you dont listin? It doesn't matter when the comptuer was manucatored, becuase that same computer could be manufactored in 2006 and still have the same parts, it was not a high end copmuter for its time. The reason OCing it wont help much is becuase the 32MB will bottleneck it to much.
