Possible? Combine raid 0 and raid 1

So I was wondering, if you get 4 1tb hard drives, can you raid 0 drives 1 and 2, raid 0 3 and 4, and raid 1 1,2 with 3,4? If that makes any scense. Or would that just make the idea pointless because your speeding up the process with raid 0, but then slowing it down again with the double writing in raid 1

Yes, you can do that. What you're thinking of is called RAID 0+1:
