my laptop got thinkpoint virus and wouldn't let me boot into my rouge windows 7. so i tried installing XP(real copy) and it ran through initial processes (attempting a fresh copy/install) and a blue screen popped up saying run "CHKDSK /F".. so how can i run that if i can't access any sort of operating system? i installed Ubuntu in hopes up just using the partitioning tool to delete all partitions hoping to free the hardrive from whatever was causing it to say run "CHKDSK /F. any ideas????
-much appreciated

Can you boot back into windows 7 or is the boot loader all screwed up now? If so, open task manager and end process on hotfix.exe. It may also help to boot into safe mode.

So your saying that windows 7 was pirated? As this is illegal, we are unable to help you. You will need to install a legal operating system.

However, your checkdisk issue means you most likely have errors on the drive and would have to run the hard drive makers disk diagnostic utility and let it scan for errors and fix them if possible.
