Possible hard drive failure?

I am in awe as to what could have caused this, I can't believe my computers acting this way.I have no idea what could of caused it, theres almost no way it could be a virus... I can't figure out what could be to blame here.
 
Scratch that, I got into safe mode. However upon starting safe mode up, I got the BSOD again.

And Im not sure how to so a restore out of windows, is there a way? ( I can't boot into windows at all to do a restore the way I would otherwise)

You're running Vista or 7 correct? Do you have a Windows disc by chance? If not, can you press F8 and select "Repair Your Computer"?
 
it seems I failed to ever create any restore points... I thought that windows did that automatically... Any other things I could try?
 
I've tested it several times, and somehow it always comes up fine. I have no clue what is causing this, but I'm getting tired of it and I'm probably going to do a fresh install of windows after a reformat.... :(
Nothing I've tried so far seems to work.

Any other last- minute things I could do?
