Possible MoBo Problem

So I just recently updated an old Intel 2.0 P4...to a 3.0 and when I turn the pc on...it will not boot up/show anything on my monitor. I also can't hear the HD's turn on. So I put my old processor back in and everything worked fine.

Any ideas?

Sounds to me like either 1. Your new processor is bad or 2. the processor is not compatible with your mother board. What are the models of the components you are trying to install? Motherboard? Processors?

post the make and model of your mobo, most mobos have a max cpu they are capable of running to go from a 2ghz to a 3ghz might be beyond the mobos capabilities.
