Possible to erase DVD+R thats not finalized?

ok...I hook my burner up wrong and i couldnt find out what the problem was, It would start the lead-in but right after that it wouldnt burn and came up with a burn error...so i messed up about 10 dvd+r's before i figured out that it was the ide cable that was at fault....so im wondering if its possible to erase the dvd+r's since there not finalized? thanks...:)

It's not possible on DVD+-R discs to erase what's been written to it finished or not (that's what RW's are for :)). But you can write to the rest of the disc that doesn't have any information on it, so the discs aren't completely useless...

Hmmm...

Yeah definitely not a possibility. However, I an not so sure about being to burn more on those disks either. That's because sessions have not been created. Therefore, the DVD-R will be "messed up" and would not allow for any further writing.

No experience with DVD's but in the same situation with CD-R's they would be dead, not useable anymore. BIN MATERIAL!!!!!

depends if he has multiseeion on by default like i do. if so, you can use up the rest of dvd, if not, then its time to play ultimate frisbee

i burn cd's and with nero multisession if i burn a 400mb cd then i cannot write over that 400mb but i can still add to the other 300mb and so on

Good point, JAN. Didn't think about the fact that the session had not been finalized, so the drive might not actually be able to index and write to the disc properly... eww...
