Possible upgrade to Gaming system

I am looking forward to the new Battlefield Hardline that comes out soon. I built my PC over 3 years ago and have been only playing Battlefiled bad company 2, call of duty black ops and Medal of Honor ever since. I play 99% online multiplayer. I have the following systems and am wondering if I should upgrade some of the components to run the new Battlefield at optimum settings:

Current system:
Power: Corsair TX series 950 watt
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H (890GX)
Processor: AMD Phnom II X4 965 Black 3.4Ghz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212
GPU: XFX Radeon HD-6870 (1GB)
Ram: 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz
Hard Drives: (1) 1TB (1) 2TB
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Case: Cooler Master Elite 430

I am thinking about upgrading the following:

Or do you believe my current system will work well with the new Battlefield Hardline?

Thanks in advance!

It should be comparable to BF3/4 performance wise.

You're kind of stuck somewhere between a faster GPU, more RAM and a stronger CPU, in that order (unless you enjoy 64 player multi, then CPU is a large part of it).

Really?

I ran BF3 maxed out with a Phenom II X4 955 and a 7850 with ease. You're going to want more than that for BFH it looks like based off the requirements.

GPU should definitely be your first upgrade.

Sorry shoulda cut that line out. Was talking specifically about saying it was on par with BF3/4. Yeah you'd want something better than a Phenom but the GPU is more of a bottleneck probably.

I agree with all others. Upgrade GPU first.
Also, if you really want to go for new CPU + Mobo combo, go for FX8320/ FX8350 instead. Or intel i5

GPU first it is then! :-)

What would make the FX8320/FX8350 better than a FX6350? I understand they are 8 core but I thought the fast 6 core would be better as I didn't think games were really utilizing 8 cores much.

Thanks for the insight!!

Recent Battlefield games are one of the rare breeds that actually benefit from more cores.
Altho I can only recall seeing benchmarks with 6-core Intel CPUs (with cores disabled for quad and dual, so 100% comparable).

You are unlikely to upgrade again your based on AM3+ AMD970 platform.
FX8320 is $140, it would make more sense to pay extra $15 now to last longer.
Most people will consider FX6300 and OC instead of FX6350 as FX6300 is just $100.
