ok we have an hp with an intel celeron 2.9GHZ proc, 700 megs of ram, and onboard video. we need a fix for it, and im thinking a pci video card. anyone know what the best is? i was thinking something along the lines of a radeon stealth 9250. the most intensive gaming this will see will be trackmania nations on low settings, would it run with ok FPS? or would upping the processor lead to better performance on these low settings?

To be honest, there's not a lot you can do with that system, celerons aren't that good for gaming, and onboard isn't good either. PCI cards are pretty much a waste of money as well, as they are so expensive and don't give that great performance.
If I were you, I'd look into a new system if you have the money.

Look what he's doing with the computer. He doesn't want to play F.E.A.R maxed out...

The best PCI cards i can find are probrably:

I think the X1550 is the best bet and it should run TRM pretty well at low/lowish settings.;)

For what you have described your CPU and RAM should be more than enough, just get a PCI video card to increase gaming performance. Upgrading the processor will only marginally increase your Framerates, it is the video card that influences that the most. Also if you want to upgrade your CPU you will have to change your motherboard too, as your current motherboard wouldn't support a CPU that is worth uipgrading to.

ok guys, we found a 6200 really cheap and bought it, picked it up, will it be a good performer? in that comparison the fx5600 was ok, but not great, will the 6200 be much better? it has ddr2 ram, im hoping that helps, even though it'll only be on pci
