Possibly a bad router?

Hey everyone. Ever since a couple weeks ago my internet connection started becoming unstable. I would have to reset my modem and router almost every couple hours. I googled it and I came up with that I had a bad router. could someone clarify this for me? THanks

if that's the problem, then it means you probably should replace your router.

it's not working right, not functioning well, has weak signal strengths, etc..

Does the computer with the modem and router connected to it lose connection? If so, it could also be your modem. If not, it could be your wireless adapter. I would just give my ISP a call, and see what they can do.

forgot 2 mention this, if you connect you modem, directly 2 the pc, and it works fine, it's definately your router.

Is there still a warranty?
Probably not, its a couple years old
I plugged the modem directly to my computer and left it there for a couple hours and it worked fine so i guess its the router. thanks for all the replies

i had a Netgear, returned it in 20 mins., totally sucked, i bought a Belkin, small G-router, only $40, works grreat...

i have had bad experiances with netgears... but i bought a new one anyways, cause of its gigabit lan and wlan

off topic:

Yeah so this isn't on topic but doesn't anyone know how to do their "i"'s the correct way? It's..."I", not "i". lol sorry I had to correct it.

On Topic:

I don't care for netgears...I like Linksys.
