I ran spysweeper and it came up with this finding, what is it and how do I get rid of it? I will post a hijack this log also!

Please download/install/scan with RootkitRevealer, after the scan is done, go to the file menu and save a log. Paste the contents of it here... :)

Update your spysweeper, download/install/update Ewido . Download and run CleanUp. Then reboot to safemode (F8 key while boot up), and run a scan with your spysweeper. After that, run a scan with Ewido. Let both of them delete what they find. Reboot normal and let us know if your spysweeper says anything about the rootkit. :)
 
I ran ewido and it didnt find anything, I also ran spysweeper in safe mode and it looks like it got rid of it! I will run another scan later to be sure. What is rootkit-masked files and how do you get them? I am so careful about spyware and I run regular scans with spybot, ad-aware, MS antispyware, pest patrol, and spysweeper! I am also useing spyware blaster and have my teatimer turned on in spybot and I have had nothing change the registry, so how could I have posibly got something like that?
 
rootkits hide from the windows api's. So normal virus and spyware scans don't see them cuz they use api's. There are legit programs that use the technology, however, malware makers have discovered it as well, so if your machine was ever infected in the past, it may have left traces. Or spysweeper may have detected parts of legit things.. hard to tell. Now that spysweeper is not detecting it anymore, you may want to test your other normal programs and verify that all is running as it should. :)
