Power Cord Problem on Toshiba Satellite

I have a Toshiba Satellite A205 Model No. PSAF3U-0NR00V. It will only boot up and operate on the battery mode. Anytime I plug in the power cord it shuts down or freezes up. I can use the cord to charge the battery, but that is it. I tried buying a new power cord, but get the same results. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have internal electrical damage(basically motherboard). Would have to get it replaced.
