This might be a retarded request, but i'm looking into building a carputer. i was wonding if there was any way for me to power a mATX mobo and xp2400M chip with a laptop PS and battery?

I may just be an idiot, but figured i'd ask. any help is appreciated.

Technically, there are probably ways to do so, but not only do those PSU's not have nearly enough power for a desktop machine, I beleive the voltages are all weird. Realize most laptops are all intergrated so you don't just have an ATX connection inside. And the actual power box only has 12v(sometimes 5v as well) so you'd have to get something to create the other voltages the computer uses.

If you just want a battery for your machine, get a UPS :P
