Power input on a new motherboard

Good Afternoon All,

I had to recently replace my motherboard. I had a MSI Delta N board. I replaced it with a Asus A7V600-X. It doesnt have an input on the new board for one of the power leads like my old one did. Does anyone know if it isnt needed on the newer boards? I have attached a picture of the input in question on my old board and the plug in question on the power supply.

This is the first time I have used ASUS motherboards and I didnt see anything in the paperwork that came with it.

Thanks for the help.

Lol

Not only that. It's also used by AMD 64 boards. As well as the extra four pins in the main power connector to the motherboard, you have the same socket on these systems. On my motherboard, that connector is situated on the left of the processor.

If the board doesnt have it, then you dont need it ... so dont stress! :D

That is an auxiliary power cable found on Intel boards, read PSU 101.
Well iif its a cable it'll be found on the PSU :P On a more serious note, AMD boards have the ATX12 as well

That connector is to supply extra power need by newer pentium 4 processors
Enough bandwagoning :P AMD boards too!
