I have the following PC configuration:
1.Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
2.Motherboard: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3
3.Hard Disk: Western Digital 320 GB 7200 rpm
4.RAM: 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333 MHz Kingston Value RAM KVR1333D3N9/2G
5.Monitor: Samsung 20-inch SyncMaster B2030 Widescreen Monitor
6.Graphics Card : ZOTAC GeForce 260 GTX 216 core processors
7.PSU : Cooler Master 600W
I was already running over budget, so I had decided on buying that Kingston Value RAM...with CAS Latency 9 and timing 9-9-9-24...I'm happy with the gaming performance of my PC...But sometimes, especially when starting system programs such as say System Restore, it takes a while(about 15-20 seconds) for it to appear on the screen...Internet Explorer or most other things open the moment I click on them, but a few don't...Again, sometimes when I click on 'My Computer', the window appears but the drives take about 10 seconds to show.Could these things have been avoided if I got a gaming RAM with heatspreader with lower CAS latency?I'm using Windows Vista SP1.
I wanna mention that I'm in no way fussy about these things...in fact I'm quite happy with my PC now...I asked the above question just for interest purpose...whether RAMs with lower CAS latency such as Kingston HyperX RAM are able to solve these little problems(should I call them problems!)...
