power on password

hey... jus got a new laptop and afer using it for sum tym, when i switch it on, its asking for power on password of which i didnt remember to put.. help me to clear this password cause its making me insane!!!

Im not 100% sure about this, so im open to correction, but...

Unfortunatley the only way to reset your password is clear your CMOS. This is pretty tricky on a desktop pc, let alone a laptop. If you arent techically experienced, i'd advise getting a proffessional to do the job for you.

Alternatively you can contact the manufacturer and tell them your situation - if it is a new laptop and you've got proof of purchase, they should help you out.
