might want to check the home site for flash and recovery for motherboard.
Might have racked your motherboard.

ASUS troubleshooting guide recommends clearing the CMOS then trying with the CD/flash drive again. I don't expect that to make any difference in this situation but you never know.

guess ill be using my old M4A79t deluxe  AND I KNOW I HAVE SOME OTHER GOODIES LYING AROUNG

Im asking because it needs to be brought up. Why and reason for flashing.
I always read about the flash and what it did. Make motherboard faster, security or fix a problem with hardware ya might not get to work in the past. If it didn't do nothing for me i did not do it. Yes......its risky business if something goes wrong.

One thing comes to mind though:
Write down the date and time power was lost. Ive had issues in the past.
About 30 yrs ago i lost power and had damage done because of loosing freezer of food for 5 days and
power in. Might be surprised who is responsible. Electric company might take some responsibility
and a thought only. Document everything. Date, time is a must. then follow up. Others will argue but
say run with it. Worse case nothing and dead end. document when ya lost it and when it turned on. Dates, times.
