Power point Question

Hi guy's, been looking around for a suitable place to ask this question and this seemed to be a pretty good spot...

Never used Power point before, decided to make a slideshow(photo's of kids) for my mother. When I email it, it opens as a page showing all of the individual slides as thumbnails. I've consulted the tutorial but all it says is to make sure it is sent as an attachment.

Can anyone advise me if I need to format the presentation somehow in order for it to open directly into the slideshow.

Hope that makes sense...

Thanks
Blue

You should save it as a powerpoint presentation not just animated GIFs as it seems in your situation
If your mother doesn't have the powerpoint program to view it in on the Microsoft website you made download a powerpoint viewer for free and without any charge to view them

Thanks for the reply dyserg... She has powerpoint, which is why I chose to try this out. I'm struggling with it though, I have set it to save as "powerpoint presentation" in the "Tools", "Options" menu. It still defaults to the main page with the thumbnails... Obviously, if I use the "Slide Show" menu, I can prompt it to play as can mum... Would be nice to eliminate this step though.

When you click save as in the file menu you should be sent to a window which has a tab called save as type, you must select the presentation tab
By the way what version of powerpoint do you have because different versions may have saved the file differently although i am not completely sure about this

You have no need for this
This is only to view the progress or the final result to the editor of the slideshow

When I click save as in the file menu, the only option in that window is "Presentation"... At work at the moment so I'm not sure of which version I'm running but, it is part of Office 2000 if that helps... It was a left over from my last PC so I installed it on my new one. Maybe it's time to update my Office... :(

Well you should be fine then as long as you can save it as a presentation format

Sorry, last statement doesn't read as clearly as I thought it... The only option in save as is "presentation", problem is, no one receives it as a presentation. All they get is a screen with thumbnails, they have to manually activate the slide show using the "slide show" drop down menu.

OK, I officially give up... Going to source a new version of Office and start again...

Thanks for you tollerance dyserq...
