Hey guys this is a general question. i have a 550watt power supply and thought about upgrading the graphics card like the radeon 4870 for example that uses 450w, would the computer run smoothly? the computer also has a 160gb and a 640gb sata harddrives, with 4 120mm fans and a 200mm fan cooling the case. i hear that the harddrives takes considerable amounts of power but if i were to put a graphics card that uses about 450, would i be better off getting a larger power supply or is 550w fine.

The specs are:
Asus P5Q motherboard
Intel Quad core 9550 2.83ghz
4gb RAM DDR 2 1100mhz
Gigabyte 8600GT Silentpipe II
160gb and 640 hdd(both on SATA)
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 X64

sorry forgot to put them

If you already got a quality 450W, it still be OK.
However, if you looking for a new one, I do suggest to get 550W to leave more room.

BTY, harddrive don't take much power.
