power supply blinking

i unplugged my computer to clean it. and when i plugged it back in it will not start, i have a blinking green light on my power supply that was once solid. i used gloves while cleaning and set my computer on cardboard so i wont fry it. did i fry it or is something else wrong.
 
I'm a little confused... Why did you set the computer on cardboard? I mean, did you set the whole unit on cardbard, or are you saying you removed the motherboard and cleaned the inside? Setting the motherboard on cardboard... And gloves, what kind? And why...?
 
i heard that it is not good to place the computer on any fiber so i used cardboard since i didn;t have a table near me. and the gloves where just vinyl gloves because someone said that it is not good to touch the inside of our computer with bear hands in case of static or oils on your hands. i am not sure if those were true but i figured it doesn't hurt to be safe then sorry. and i sat the whole computer on cardboard, didn;t take any parts out. exprct 2 fans. and just used pressed air to clean it.
 
are you certain all cables and connectors have been plugged back in? in the correct places? double check, then unplug the power cable for 15 seconds, plug it back in, try again, failing that unplug it, take the CMOS battery out of the motherboard for 5 mins, put it back, plug it in and try powering up

i just called up best buy to see what they would say about it and they say it needs to be replaced. anyone disagree or should i just do that and if so my old power supply was max 250W but i have added a video card and 2 fans should i buy a higher watt power supply. thanks

fans dont take up much power but new video cards do, i would suggest a higher watage PSU. Also, i gather people at bestbuy arent the best trained (im in the UK, so i dont know) but if its anything like PCWorld then they will just ask you to return it to them straight off, without actually thinking about what it could be.

I take it you bought it from bestbuy then?

well bought a new supply and it booted right up, yay now i get to do a full reformat system recover and lose all my data but that is a nother thread. thanks for help.
