Power supply fan chirping...

I recently built a new computer. I have a CORSAIR Professional Series HX650 650W power supply.

Whenever the power supply fan comes on and off, it makes this ANNOYING chirping sound.

This is actually my 2nd one. The first one which did the chirp, I assumed was defective and sent it back for a new one...

Is there any way to stop this?

Can anyone else recommend a nice quiet, non chirping power supply?

Thanks.

Jim

Maybe the Corsair's TX model would be good, I have a tx750 v2 in my computer no problems with it at all. Been running since March of this year.

HX650 is a good ps. You can't do anything to it without risking or voiding the warranty. Sounds like your unsure the first one was defective. Are you sure it's the ps making the noise? I would rma it.

I've sat and watched the PS fan turn on and off while my computer is running. The chirps coincide with the fan turning on and decelerating to stop.

Yeah I'm going to have to RMA it. But this is the 2nd in a row that was like this... which is making me a little paranoid. I don't really know enough to identify the problem if there is something else going on...

When you get it out of the case see if you can see anything that may have gotten in there and is touching the fan.

Thanks. I'll check it out when I get home. It really sounds like it has bad bearings or something though. I'll double check...
