Power supply fan noise

Has anyone replaced their noisy fan on a power supply as an alternative to buying a new PS? I have a Dell N375P-00 supply and it is obvious that the fan is dieing by listening to the noise that it is making.
 
I have, it's pretty simple. Be aware that you're voiding your warranty and try to get a feel for how much air the current fan pushes and if it feels like it blows a lot of cold air, meaning it doesn't need to be spinning that fast.

Some power supplies have the fan hard wired to the unit, in which case you'll just have to rip it out and power/control the new fan externally.

However, some power supplies also have a 2-pin connection for the fan, in which case you can use a 3-pin connection (one pin just reports RPM), so long as you get the polarity right.

I've replaced quite a few PSU fans and you don't need to power the new one externally.
Cut the wires from the old fan right at the fan so you have some length to them. Then cut the plug off the new fan right at the plug.
Use wire strippers to remove the insulation from the wires about 1/8 to 1/4 inch.
Use automotive style "butt" connectors to splice the wires from the PSU to the new fan (you will need a crimping tool). Mount the fan and tuck the wires away from harm.
