Power supply for Sata Drives?

I have 3 WD Serial ATA hard drives and every one of them has a special power supply connection but also what looks to be a standard power supply conection, or at least a standard power supply 4 pin conector will conet to it.

My P S U Has 2 Serial ATA conectors, could I use one of the standard conectors on the standard side of a sata drive if I want to add a 3rd or do I need the converter?

If your drive has both connectors on it you should be able to use either but don't use both at the same time.

Your right, and I did find on WD's site where they make their drives with "FlexPower™ – connector technology that accepts power from both industry-standard and new SATA power supplies."

the one i just got also has that, its really useful when you have more then 1 hard drive and you buy an OEM hard drive that doesnt come with any cables.
