Power Supply HELP with 5 Devices

Hello People

I would like to ask how many watts power supply should I run on if I am running a p4 2.6 CPU, Asus P4P800SE Motherboard, Regular DVD ROM, DVDRW, 2 IDE Hard Drives and 1 SATA Hard Drive and a Floppy. I would like to ask everyone what do you recommend I should use for power supply? In the future I might get another SATA Hard Drive but I am not too sure about it yet. If you have a specific brand name of the power supply I should get that would be great too. If you have links of the power supply you recommend that would be awesome. If i remember correctly I am using a 400 Watt Power Supply. If you know a way I can check besides opening up my computer please tell me how. It's a pain in the ass taking out my tower. Someone please get back to me about this. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Generally hard drives take no more than 15 W (ones I've seen average about 11W). So basically as long as the 400W PSU is a good one you shouldn't have a problem. Well, that is if your gfx card isn't a power hog. As for telling what PSU you have you'll have to pop off the cover, a very simple task really.

Lol

Well I would get the 500w power supply because it gives you plenty of headroom. It will allow you to add more devices and the system should have no problem whatsoever with the power supply. I have a very cheap 550w...and it does its job. However, I would recommend you to invest into a renowned brand instead. Wattage is not that important because there are many other factors that determine how good a PSU is.

JAN :D

Would I be going over the top if I used a 800-900W? I would be using it for a gaming and high use of graphics systems.

Well if you have the $479 or so for the PC P&C SLI PSU then go for it, four rock solid rails is nothing to laugh at :)
