Power Supply Minimum Requirements

I am running an E6750 on an FP-IN9 Fatal1ty board with 2x 8800GT 256MB, 2x HDD, 1x CD, and 1x FDD.

I would like to buy a 680 Watt supply because as far as I can find they are the most economical at $30. Not very pretty though, but functional.

I don't care about how it sounds since I can't usually hear the hum of the fan over the rat-a-tat of my AK in Counter-Strike anyway.

If anyone knows a "rule of thumb" for figuring out your equipments power needs please let me know, I used to jus "buy whatever" which always worked, but I wanna do it right this time.

If it's under $100, you can safely assume it's crappy and not a true power rating. Even Antec's lower end stuff isn't made by them and is junk.

"Your Recommended Minimum Power Supply is
400
Watts"

was seen for the build here with two optical drives and 3 HDS with the ATI HD 2600XT video card and two pci devices. I guess I'm 300w over what I needed with the OCZ GameXStream 700w supply. With a simple change to the NVidia 8800 series for a video card and adding a usb device it still shows 400w as the minimum.
