Yes - a generic PSU won't have enough 12V amps to power your new components i.e. might only have 18Amps on the 12V rail when a new system needs 20+Amps of continuous power.
Generic PSU's overstate what they do and underperform.
Buy Seasonic as they are the best. TT, I hope you mean Thermaltake (not the TT generic brand) are both no good anyway, as Thermaltake rebadge old power supplies with nice stickers.
Seasonic as I said have strong 12V rails, enough amps and supply the True wattage stated or at least at 85% efficiency which a generic will never do.
Plus Seasonic are 80PLUS verified PSU's which is strenuous industry standards for PSU's. Just to prove I am not working for Seasonic, I also recommend Antec Earthwatts which are also reliable.
here is a link that explains everything in greater detail than myself. READ IT: http://www.overclockers.com.au/wiki/Power_Supply_Unit
