power surge

hey guys i have a problem
there was a power surge at my house and at the time mi UPS wasnt hooked up.
To make a long story short the drive crashed
i need a free program that allows me to scan the other drive with another computer

plz help

What you mean scan? You can just put the drive in another computer as a slave and use windows to do a thorough scan of the drive to mark and of the bad sectors if it has any. Or are you looking for recovery software?

recovery software like something i can use to copy the files off the(windows says the drive is corrupted) but when i use a program called drive scan it can find the files but it costs money to take the files off the hard drive

i need something free that does this

lol there was a power surge at my house to and I freaked out lol...
At first my comp wouldent start (it would go to amd screen and freeze ther)
so I unplugged it and left it off for a while then plugged it back in..and it worked...

but yeah I think I need a Ups...which one do you have?

i have the APS BACK-UPS 300 series i got it for about $30
its really cool because if the power goes out i can still use mi comp for about 2 more hours on battery
